Listed below is a short description of the CSA Farm Worker/Supervisor position.
Our farm is located in the village of North Gower which is a 20 minutes’ drive south of Barrhaven in the City of Ottawa. A valid driver’s licence is required for this job. Please note that there is no public transportation to our farm, therefore you will need to provide your own transportation to and from the farm each day.
Our CSA Farm Worker/Supervisor must be a person that is not afraid to get their hands dirty! You need to be able to work with others and supervise them at the same time.
Crops to be Harvested:
The CSA Farm Worker/Supervisor would be responsible for harvesting a wide variety of vegetables. The CSA Farm Worker/Supervisor will work alongside harvest hands and also work independently.
Season Beginning and Ending Time:
TOur CSA season starts early July and ends mid-October.
Short Description of a Typical Work Day:
The CSA Farm Worker/Supervisor would be responsible for harvesting a wide variety of vegetables. The CSA Farm Worker/Supervisor will work alongside harvest hands and also work independently.
Description of a Typical Work Week
The CSA Farm Worker/Supervisor works week a five day week. We do not work on Sundays so all staff would have every Sunday off during the week. The second day the Worker/Supervisor will have off is Mondays. Our CSA Food Boxes are harvested and delivered every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Saturdays the CSA Farm Worker/Supervisor will be required to work at a Farmer’ Market. Saturdays are very busy days at Foster Family Farm so the CSA Farm Worker/Supervisor will be required to work every Saturday. NOTE: This is a full time position only!
